Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06/1WCH | White resin electric kettle

There is something deeply familiar about the Plissé, yet nothing predictable. Its pleated surface - a direct evocation of the fabric from which it takes its name - transforms an everyday gesture such as boiling water into a small domestic ritual. The white thermoplastic resin captures the light with an iridescent effect, modulating the shadows along the vertical grooves with the same grace as a haute couture dress laid on a kitchen worktop. In the hand, the grip is secure and the silhouette harmonious; the lid lifts with a touch, steam rises, and one is reminded that even the most functional objects can be beautiful. Michele De Lucchi designed this kettle in 2019, bringing to Alessi his vision of a design rooted in the European artisanal tradition without ever rejecting the contemporary. One of the most influential architects and designers of his generation - founder of AMDL CIRCLE and former leading figure of the Memphis Movement - De Lucchi applies to the Plissé the same principle that guides all his work: form arises from human gesture, not abstraction. The name is an explicit tribute to textile pleating, an ancient technique that multiplies the surface and enriches the volume with an essential geometry. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it represents exactly what we look for: objects capable of existing between design and everyday poetry. It is intended for those who furnish a kitchen with the same care as a living room, for those who consider the worktop a surface to inhabit rather than merely use. The white makes it universal, adaptable to both minimalist interiors and warmer, more tactile settings. Project notes: 2400 W of power, 1-litre capacity, dimensions 21 × 16 × 20 cm. Adapter included. Part of the Palinsesto fall/winter collection by Alessi.
