Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06/1WAU | White resin electric kettle

There is something almost sartorial about the Plissé: its pleated surface recalls worked fabric, the drape of fine cloth, and the rhythmic repetition of a fold becoming form. Made of white thermoplastic resin, the kettle stands on the kitchen counter not as an appliance but as an object to contemplate. Its silhouette is substantial and reassuring, its texture invites touch, and its pure white color brings light even to the most neutral corners of the kitchen. The Plissé was born from the mind of Michele De Lucchi, one of the longest-standing and most influential figures in contemporary Italian design. Co-founder of the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later an interpreter of a more mature and reflective language, De Lucchi found in Alessi a natural partner for exploring the boundary between functional object and domestic sculpture. The name itself - Plissé, the pleating of the textile tradition - reveals the inspiration: a tribute to craftsmanship, to repetition as beauty, and to the artisanal gesture translated into an industrial mold. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly expresses what we believe in: that even the everyday act of boiling water deserves an object designed with care. It is ideal for those who create their kitchen as a cohesive space, where nothing is left to chance - not even the kettle. It pairs naturally with lacquered white compositions, marble or steel surfaces, and any project seeking formal rigor without coldness. Project notes: 1-liter capacity (100 cl), dimensions 21 × 16 × 20 cm, weight 1.51 kg. Version with an Australian plug (AU), in white thermoplastic resin. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto autumn/winter collection.
