Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06/1DAZ | Blue resin electric kettle

There is something almost sartorial about the Plissé. The surface that gives it its name evokes the pleating of fabric, that soft, rhythmic geometry that transforms an everyday object into a small tabletop sculpture. The blue thermoplastic resin body - an intense, bold blue capable of enlivening even the most austere kitchen - is shaped with a formal care rarely found among appliances. The one-liter capacity and 2400W power ensure performance worthy of its appearance: the water boils quickly, and the ritual of tea or coffee becomes a ceremony. The Plissé is a creation by Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential architects and designers in the contemporary Italian scene, who was already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later embarked on a design journey that successfully combined intellectual rigor with artisan sensibility. With Alessi, De Lucchi created a collection that reinterprets kitchen objects through the lens of Italian material culture: forms that reference the worlds of tailoring and textiles, surfaces that invite both touch and inspection in equal measure. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly embodies that borderline where design ceases to be decoration and becomes domestic philosophy. It is the ideal kettle for those who consider the kitchen a space to live in with the same care given to the living room: for collectors of Alessi objects, for those seeking a gift with a rare balance between function and emotion, and for those who refuse to accept that the ordinary must be banal. Project notes: blue thermoplastic resin, European plug, 2400W, 100 cl capacity. Dimensions: 21 × 16 × 20 cm. Designer: Michele De Lucchi. Alessi collection, spring/summer lineup.
