Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06/1BUK | Black electric kettle by De Lucchi

There is something almost sartorial about the Plissé. The surface furrowed by regular folds - the ones that give the object its name, evoking the pleated fabric of high fashion - transforms an everyday appliance into a fully realized exercise in style. Made of black thermoplastic resin, the kettle stands out on the countertop with the elegant discretion of someone who does not need to raise their voice: the form speaks for itself, geometric and soft at the same time, with a profile reminiscent of a pleated skirt suspended in a motionless gesture. Michele De Lucchi - one of the most influential architects and designers on the Italian scene, a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later the author of some of Europe's most significant industrial and institutional projects - signs the Plissé with his characteristic ability to find beauty in constructive simplicity. The project belongs to the AlessiPalinsesto collection and perfectly embodies Alessi's philosophy: turning the "factory of dreams" into a place where everyday objects become pieces of material culture. We chose it for Stilmobili because the Plissé is one of those objects that changes the way you look at a kitchen. It does not hide or blend in: it is displayed. It is designed for those who consider the countertop a surface for composition, not merely for production. Ideal in contemporary settings with assured taste, where matte black converses with natural materials or with steel and glass. Project notes: 2400W power, 1-liter capacity, dimensions 21 × 16 × 20 cm. Available with an English plug (UK). A technical detail that also makes it the perfect companion for anyone traveling between Milan and London without wanting to give up their aesthetic.
