Among the founders of the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later one of the leading figures in European industrial design, De Lucchi has always sought in everyday forms a way to express the intelligence of things. Plissé was created within the Alessi family’s extensive range of kitchen appliances: objects designed to exist in the world - not in a display case - and to enhance the perceived quality of everyday life. We chose it because it is one of those rare pieces in which function and character coincide without compromise. It is ideal for those who furnish the kitchen like the rest of the home - with care, with intention - and do not accept that a kettle should be simply a kettle.
