Alessi — Plissé MDL06 B | Black De Lucchi electric kettle

There is something almost architectural about Plissé. The pleated surface that runs across the body of the kettle is not an ornament: it is its essence, the formal gesture that transforms an everyday act - boiling water - into a small aesthetic ritual. The black thermoplastic resin absorbs light without reflecting it, giving the piece a quiet yet decisive presence on the worktop. The silhouette is vertical, almost sculptural, with proportions that evoke a collector's object more than an appliance. Plissé was created by Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential architects and designers in the contemporary Italian scene. A central figure in the Memphis movement of the 1980s and later founder of AMDL CIRCLE, De Lucchi has always cultivated a design approach that brings craftsmanship, memory, and industrial innovation into dialogue. With Plissé, he brings his unmistakable formal vocabulary into the kitchen: that tension between geometric order and human warmth that makes his objects immediately recognizable, capable of belonging equally in a professional kitchen or a domestic setting with a refined personality. At Stilmobili, we chose Plissé because it embodies exactly what we look for: objects that do not merely function, but know how to belong. It is the ideal kettle for those who consider the kitchen a space for design, for those who refuse to compromise between aesthetics and performance, and for those who see design as an act of everyday care. The black version, in particular, fits naturally into contemporary kitchens, alongside major names in contract and high-end residential design. Project notes: capacity 1.7 litres, power 2400W, dimensions 21 × 16 × 29 cm. UK plug. Thermoplastic resin body. Design by Michele De Lucchi for Alessi, fall/winter collection.
