Alessi — Plissé MDL06/1 B | Black De Lucchi electric kettle

There is something almost architectural in the way Plissé occupies the countertop. The grooved surface in black thermoplastic resin absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating an object with a discreet yet unmistakable presence. The pleated texture - already evoked by the name - recalls the folds of a fine fabric, transforming an everyday gesture such as boiling water into a moment of small domestic beauty. With its 100 cl capacity and 2400 W power, it is a kettle that is in no hurry to forget that it is also a design object. Michele De Lucchi is one of the great storytellers of Italian form: a student of Radical Design and later a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s, he has moved through the decades, reinventing the relationship between function and aesthetic language each time. Plissé was born from his ability to interpret everyday life through an architect's eyes - the pleating is not ornament, but structure, rhythm, the visual grammar that distinguishes a thoughtfully designed product from one that is simply manufactured. Designed for Alessi as part of the permanent collection, the kettle has over time become a benchmark in the catalog of designer kitchen appliances. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly embodies what we look for: objects that do not ask to be put on display, but naturally become the protagonists. It is designed for those who arrange their kitchen as they would an interior, with the same care given to a sofa or a lamp. The matte black finish makes it ideal for contemporary spaces, monochromatic kitchens, or settings where design speaks with a firm yet quiet voice.
