Alessi — Pleats JK02/31 JK02/31 B | Round black steel tray

There is a quiet geometry in Alessi's Pleats that reveals itself only when you look at it closely. The round tray in black-colored steel is not content to be a flat surface: its essence lies entirely in the pleats - the very folds that give it its name - which radiate from the structure like crystallized waves, like a precious fabric fixed in metal. The deep black of the steel absorbs light and gives back substance, transforming a functional object into a sculptural presence on the table. Jin Kuramoto, one of the most refined Japanese designers of his generation, brings to Pleats the sensibility characteristic of Japanese design culture: the ability to find beauty in structure, to make technique an aesthetic language. Kuramoto has worked for years at the boundary between industrial objects and conceptual craftsmanship, and this collaboration with Alessi is a coherent testament to that. The tray is part of Alessi's permanent collection, conceived for the fall-winter season - the season when the table becomes a domestic stage, a place of ritual and care. We chose it at Stilmobili because it perfectly embodies that tension between rigor and warmth that we seek in every piece. Pleats is ideal for those who want serving objects to have a precise aesthetic point of view too: perfect as a centerpiece, as a bread tray, or simply left empty to engage with the light in a room. It is for those who do not separate beauty from usefulness. Project notes: diameter 31 cm, height 1.5 cm. Black-colored steel. Net weight 850 g. Designed by Jin Kuramoto for Alessi.
