Alessi — Pinch ASH01 B | Black PVD stainless steel vase Shirley

There is something tactile and almost organic about Pinch, as if an invisible hand had gently squeezed the metal at its waist, leaving the imprint of a human gesture on the polished steel surface. The black PVD coating gives the vase an unexpected chromatic depth: it is not the flat black of an industrial object, but a shade that absorbs light and returns it in shifting, almost liquid reflections. With its compact dimensions - 12.5 cm wide and 23 cm high - Pinch achieves the perfect balance between visual presence and discretion. Adam Shirley, an American designer who developed professionally through dialogue with Italian manufacturing, conceived Pinch as an exercise in formal synthesis: removing rather than adding, allowing the sculptural gesture to become the narrative. The result is an object that goes beyond its function as a container, presenting itself instead as a tabletop sculpture, equally capable of standing with or without flowers, with or without the water that reflects light through the upper opening. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it perfectly embodies that tension between industrial rigor and artisanal sensitivity at the heart of Alessi's finest production. It is designed for those who furnish a workspace with the same care they devote to creating a living room: for those who see the desk as a place for thought, not merely production. Ideal as a gift for a discerning collector or as a distinctive accent in an interior featuring dark, tactile tones. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, black PVD coating, dimensions 12.5 × 7.6 × h 23 cm. Limited-edition production, end of series.
