Alessi — PCH02/23 | Charpin stainless steel table basket

Pierre Charpin's PCH02/23 presents itself as an almost primary form - circular, flat, rigorous - yet capable of capturing the light of 18/10 stainless steel with a delicacy all its own. With its 23-centimeter diameter and barely 7-centimeter height, this tabletop basket inhabits the space without truly occupying it: a discreet, almost mental presence that defines the center of a composition without imposing itself. Pierre Charpin is one of the most refined French designers of his generation, equally at home working with ceramics, glass, and metal. His approach to design is always formal in the highest sense of the word: form does not follow function; it contains and distills it. For Alessi - within the Palinsesto fall/winter collection - Charpin worked on the archetype of the circular container, reducing it to its essence and eliminating every superfluous element until reaching the exact point where object and abstraction coincide. At Stilmobili, we chose this piece because it perfectly represents what we look for: design that does not age, does not shout, and reveals itself over time.
