Alessi — PCH02/15 | Charpin round stainless steel basket

A perfect circle. Alessi's PCH02/15 wastepaper basket presents itself as an object of disarming simplicity: a low disk in 18/10 stainless steel, fifteen centimeters in diameter, reflecting light with that cool, precise sheen that only metal can offer. The polished surface, the restrained profile - just five centimeters high - and the rigorous geometry make it an object of ambiguity in the noblest sense of the term: it is a wastepaper basket, certainly, but also a small tabletop sculpture, a neutral backdrop on which everyday life can deposit its objects. It was designed by Pierre Charpin, a French designer whose work has always moved along the subtle boundary between applied art and industrial design. His work with Alessi is part of the brand's tradition of entrusting everyday objects to the sensibility of authors capable of transforming function into a complete form. Charpin brings to this piece the same formal consistency that characterizes his entire body of work: no superfluous ornament, no concession to decoration, only the quality of the material and the perfection of the constructive gesture. At Stilmobili, we chose the PCH02/15 because it embodies a vision of furnishings that feels true to us: that of an object that does not shout, but convinces. It is the ideal accessory for those seeking a discreet presence on the dining table, desk, or surface of a designer bathroom - something that organizes without intruding, and that still makes sense when it is empty. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, diameter 15 cm, height 5 cm. Weight 322 g. Part of the permanent Alessi collection, autumn/winter program.
