Alessi — Nuovo Milano 5180/6M | Sottsass stainless steel fruit knife

There is something deeply Italian in the way the Nuovo Milano fruit knife appears on the table: a one-piece AISI 420 steel construction, polished until it becomes almost mirror-like, with a formal purity that allows no distractions. The blade and handle are made from a single piece of metal - a construction choice that is also a declaration of poetics - and the hand holding it immediately senses that calibrated weight, that uninterrupted continuity that transforms an everyday gesture into a small domestic ritual. Ettore Sottsass - one of the most iconic and restless figures in 20th-century Italian design, founder of the Memphis group and tireless provocateur of bourgeois good taste - designed this collection together with Alberto Gozzi with an unexpected rigor for those who know him through his colorful lamps or postmodern shelving. Nuovo Milano is a tribute to the tradition of Italian cutlery, reinterpreted with a severe, contemporary eye: no ornament, no rhetoric. Only form serving function, and serving it magnificently. We chose it because at Stilmobili we believe that excellence is also measured in the quietest details of a set table. The Nuovo Milano fruit knife is ideal for those who want a cutlery set that stands the test of time without aging, equally suited to a formal dinner or a lunch where the quality of the objects speaks for itself, without needing to raise its voice. Project notes: length 19 cm, AISI 420 stainless steel, one-piece construction. Designed by Ettore Sottsass with Alberto Gozzi for Alessi. Nuovo Milano collection, ongoing production.
