Alessi — Nuovo Milano 5180/15 | Sottsass 18/1 steel cake server

There is something precise yet generous about the Nuovo Milano cake server: the broad 18/10 stainless steel blade, polished like a mirror, engages with a profile that never relinquishes grace. It is an object conceived for the gesture — the slow and attentive act of serving, of offering — and carries it out with the elegant discretion belonging to truly well-designed things. The 18/10 steel, chosen by Alessi for its resistance to corrosion and lasting shine, gives the server a reassuring weight between the fingers, a solidity that never becomes heaviness. Nuovo Milano was created by Ettore Sottsass, a towering figure in twentieth-century Italian design, working alongside Alberto Gozzi on this project. Sottsass — founder of the Memphis group and creator of iconic designs for Olivetti — brings to this cutlery set his unmistakable ability to imbue everyday forms with cultural meaning without weighing them down. Nuovo Milano bears the name of the city where Italian design wrote its history: a tribute and, at the same time, a declaration of style. At Stilmobili, we chose Nuovo Milano because we believe that the table is a place of care and identity. This cake server is the right object for those who consider the dessert ritual worthy of the same attention given to the other moments of the meal. It is ideal for those who furnish their home thoughtfully and want every detail — even the most discreet one — to tell a story of quality and design.
