Alessi — Nuovo Milano 5180/13 | Sottsass 18/10 sauce ladle

There is something profoundly Italian in the way a ladle can become something more than itself: not merely a utensil, but a completed gesture, a form that engages with the table and with those who set it. The sauce ladle from the Nuovo Milano collection in 18/10 stainless steel belongs to that rare category of objects that do not merely serve, but interpret. The polished surface captures the light discreetly, while the profile moves through space with a precision that allows no redundancy. Nuovo Milano was born from the vision of Ettore Sottsass, one of the most influential figures in twentieth-century Italian design, and from his collaboration with Alberto Gozzi - a design dialogue that successfully translated Sottsass's rigorous yet sensitive language into cutlery. The result is a collection that belongs neither to the stately tradition of classic silverware nor to functionalist coldness: it is a rare point of balance, a synthesis that only certain encounters between minds and materials can produce. Eighteen centimetres long, designed to fit naturally in the hand and alongside the gravy boat, without ever losing the formal rigour that distinguishes every piece in the series. At Stilmobili, we chose Nuovo Milano because it represents exactly what we look for: objects that enrich the table not through ostentation, but through the quiet quality of form. It is the ideal complement for those who have already chosen a distinctive cutlery set and wish to complete it coherently, or for those who want to give someone who lives thoughtfully a gift with genuine meaning. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, length 18 cm. Dishwasher safe. Made in Italy by Alessi.
