Alessi — MT19 | La Stanza dello Scirocco wall clock

There is something ancient yet suspended in time about Alessi's MT19 wall clock. "La Stanza dello Scirocco" - the name evokes that underground room, carved into tuff or living stone, where Sicilian nobles took refuge during the hottest months, allowing the hot desert wind to cool before reaching them. The clock translates this idea into polished 18/10 stainless steel: a surface that captures light and returns it altered, almost filtered, with the same quiet quality as a place outside time. The design bears the signature of Mario Trimarchi, a Sicilian designer and one of the most poetic voices in the contemporary Italian scene. Over the years, Trimarchi has built a profound dialogue with Alessi, capable of transforming everyday objects into small narrative architectures. Each of his pieces begins with a precise, almost literary mental image, and "La Stanza dello Scirocco" is perhaps its most complete expression: geometry becomes metaphor, the measurement of time becomes intertwined with that of place and memory. At Stilmobili, we chose this clock because it speaks to those who consider the home a text to be composed with care. It is designed for those who inhabit spaces of discovery - a study, a living room where books coexist with artworks - and seek furnishings with cultural substance as well as formal appeal. Its generous dimensions (46 × 33.5 cm) give it presence without ever becoming decoration for its own sake. Project notes: made of 18/10 stainless steel, with an opening 46 cm wide and 33.5 cm high. Lightweight, just over one kilogram, making it easy to install on any load-bearing wall. Part of the Alessi collection in the seasonal spring/summer catalog.
