Alessi — MT02 | La Stanza dello Scirocco, white fruit bowl by Trimarchi

There is something ancient and Mediterranean about this fruit bowl, something that recalls the slanting afternoon light in a Sicilian interior, the dense silence of summer, and the natural geometry of fruit resting on a cool surface. “La Stanza dello Scirocco” is an object that does more than simply contain: it suggests a landscape, a temperature, and a slower pace. Made of steel coated with white epoxy resin, its surface has an almost mineral quality - compact, luminous, and capable of engaging with every organic material placed upon it. The design bears the signature of Mario Trimarchi, a Palermo-born designer and one of the most poetic voices in the contemporary Italian scene. An Alessi collaborator for many years, Trimarchi is able to imbue everyday objects with a rare narrative density, drawing on profound cultural influences without ever slipping into folklore. “La Stanza dello Scirocco” is one of those pieces in which function and story perfectly coincide: the name itself - evoking the underground retreats of Sicilian aristocratic residences, places of coolness and repose - transforms an ordinary gesture such as bringing fruit to the table into a small domestic ritual. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly represents what we seek: objects that inhabit spaces with discretion and depth. It is ideal for those who furnish thoughtfully, for those who love white not as an absence but as an affirmation, and for those who find in everyday details a form of care for themselves and others. Project notes: diameter 27.3 × 27.3 cm, height 13 cm. Steel with a white epoxy resin finish. Permanent Alessi collection, fall/winter seasonality.
