Alessi — Miracolo! GJ03 | Hand-painted porcelain nativity scene

There is something moving and, at the same time, irreverent about this nativity scene. The figures in "Miracolo!" inhabit a space suspended between popular devotion and contemporary irony: white porcelain - the quintessential noble material, steeped in European history - is transformed under the decorators' hands into a sacred scene that does not forgo individuality. The colors applied by hand, with that slight imperfection that only the human touch can leave behind, give each piece an inimitable character. Compact dimensions but an undeniable visual presence: 16 centimeters wide, for a nativity scene capable of occupying a space - and a thought - far broader. Behind "Miracolo!" are two names that represent a happy anomaly in the Italian design scene: Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori, both from the worlds of illustration, auteur comics, and the most thoughtful pop culture. Their encounter with Alessi - always a laboratory for cross-pollination between applied art and industry - produces objects in which sophisticated references coexist with a smile. The nativity scene belongs to the permanent Alessi collection and the fall/winter lineup, designed to accompany the home as it moves toward the festive season with a decidedly unconventional perspective. We chose it for Stilmobili because it represents exactly what we are looking for: objects that tell a story, that spark a conversation. "Miracolo!" is for those who want to rediscover the meaning of an ancient gesture - setting up the nativity scene - without giving up a contemporary perspective. It is the ideal gift for a design collector, for someone whose home is already furnished with designer pieces, or simply for anyone who knows that tradition, too, can be reinvented with intelligence and grace. Project notes: hand-decorated porcelain, dimensions 16 × 12.8 × 10.4 cm. Each piece is considered unique due to the hand decoration.
