Alessi — MG34 | Michael Graves stainless steel tray

There is something immediately recognizable about Michael Graves's MG34: a presence that does not merely contain, but engages with the space around it. Made of polished 18/10 stainless steel, with polyamide details, the tray moves between the industrial precision of metal and a formal softness that belongs solely to Graves's vocabulary. Its proportions - 28.5 × 16.5 cm, with a height of 12.5 cm - result in an object generous in capacity, disciplined in silhouette. Michael Graves, the Princeton architect and central figure of American postmodernism, brought an unmistakable sensibility to Alessi: that of someone who treats everyday objects as small, inhabited architectures. His collaboration with the Crusinallo manufacturer produced some of the most iconic pieces of the 1980s and 1990s, marking an era in which tableware design ceased to be neutral and became a cultural statement. The MG34 carries that same ambition: to be functional without giving up its own visual grammar. We at Stilmobili chose it because it embodies what we look for in every object we bring into our store: the ability to elevate everyday life without overloading it. It is the ideal tray for those who want a centerpiece that can also disappear into discretion, or assert itself as a stylish element on a sideboard or in a carefully curated entryway. It is intended for those who know the difference between an object that is bought and one that is chosen. Project notes: Polished 18/10 stainless steel with PA elements.
