Alessi — MG32 MG32 AZ | Graves electric kettle in light blue steel

There is something almost architectural about the way the MG32 occupies the countertop. Its shape is a perfect cylinder, polished like a mirror, made of 18/10 stainless steel that captures the kitchen light and reflects it back amplified. The handle and base in blue thermoplastic resin interrupt the metallic perfection with a bold, almost childlike note of color in the best sense of the term — a blue that evokes post-storm skies and Mediterranean ceramics. Holding it while the water heats up is a small domestic ritual of unexpectedly high quality. Michael Graves, a Princeton architect and central figure in American postmodernism, designed some of Alessi's most iconic objects of the 1990s and 2000s. With the MG32, he applies to the everyday kitchen the same formal grammar that had transformed public buildings into cultural manifestos: pure geometries, color accents charged with meaning, and a formal lightness concealing great design rigor. The kettle belongs to Alessi's main collection, conceived to translate the ambition of collectible design into everyday objects, without compromise. We chose it because at Stilmobili we believe that the kitchen is where design is truly put to the test — not in a display window, but in everyday use. The MG32 is ideal for those who want an object with a story to tell, who are not willing to give up beauty even in the most ordinary gestures. It is a perfect gift for a housewarming, a significant birthday, or simply for yourself. Design notes: 1.5-liter capacity, 2000W power, cordless system with a 360° rotating base.
