Alessi — Menhir MA01/3 | Anastassiades 3-cup espresso coffee maker

There is something ancestral yet perfectly contemporary about the Menhir's silhouette. Michael Anastassiades's espresso coffee maker for Alessi rises on the cooktop with the quiet composure of a monolith: 18/10 stainless steel polished to perfection, proportions calibrated to the millimeter, and a Burgundy thermoplastic resin handle - a deep, almost wine-colored red - that introduces the only note of color in an object otherwise defined entirely by reflection and light. Capacity for three cups, fifteen centiliters of daily ritual. Michael Anastassiades, a Cypriot designer with a studio in London, has for years been one of the most recognizable voices in international design: his work revolves around the essential, reducing every form to its purest core. The Menhir brings this philosophy to the most domestic gesture there is - making coffee - transforming it into a moment of formal contemplation. The magnetic steel boiler ensures compatibility with induction cooktops, bringing the quintessential Italian coffee maker into the most technologically advanced kitchen without sacrificing an ounce of character. We chose the Menhir because it embodies exactly what we look for when we talk about auteur design applied to everyday objects: not a decoration, but an object that transforms routine into an experience. It is the ideal gift for someone who already has everything and is looking for something capable of creating a sense of wonder; it is the natural complement to a kitchen where every choice is considered, where the cooktop is not merely functional but a composition. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, induction-compatible magnetic boiler, Burgundy thermoplastic resin handle. Capacity: 15 cl (3 cups). Dimensions: 7.5 × 14 × 18 cm.
