Alessi — Melchiorre AMJ13 9 | Painted blown glass Christmas bauble

There is something ancient and precious about the gesture of hanging a blown-glass sphere on the Christmas tree. Melchiorre belongs to that tradition, but reinterprets it with the irreverent, cultured imagination that distinguishes the project. The ball - 12 centimeters in diameter, transparent mouth-blown glass - is entirely decorated by hand, and this craftsmanship is the source of its uniqueness: no two pieces are perfectly alike, and each bears the delicate trace of the person who made it. Melchiorre was born within the orbit of the **A di Alessi collection**, the cultural project that the Crusinallo factory built around the creative signature of **LPWK - Marcello Jori**, a Bolognese artist and illustrator among the most original of his generation. Jori brings to the Alessi universe a pictorial vision rich in pop references, naïve symbolism, and subtle humor: his characters - archetypal figures, wise men, and fantastical creatures - inhabit objects with the same naturalness with which they would inhabit the pages of an artist's illustrated book. We chose Melchiorre because, first and foremost, it is an object to look at. A decoration that does not merely adorn the tree, but tells a story, invites you to pause and look for details. It is the ideal gift for those who love design when it engages in dialogue with art, and for those who want every corner of their home - even during the holidays - to reflect a precise, personal taste. Project notes: blown glass, hand-applied decoration. Height 12 cm, width 8.5 cm. Alessi's A Collection, autumn/winter range. Designer: Marcello Jori for LPWK.
