Alessi — Maya 7320/25PGR | Iridescent steel round basket Purplegre

There is something hypnotic about the way Maya captures light. Round and quiet in form, this steel basket reveals its extraordinary nature when viewed from different angles: the Purplegreen iridescent resin shifts from deep purple to emerald green, like the surface of a soap bubble or the wing of a tropical bird suspended in the air. An object that transforms without moving, engaging with its surroundings and changing with them. Maya was born from the mind of Giulio Confalonieri, a Milanese designer with a long-standing presence in the Alessi universe, capable of working with surfaces as though they were sensitive membranes. In this collection, Confalonieri explores the boundary between utility and pure visual presence: technically, the basket is a container - but its true function is to inhabit a space with chromatic grace. The choice of iridescent resin is not decoration: it is the project itself. At Stilmobili, we chose Maya because it perfectly represents that fertile space where Italian design can be both artisanal and visionary. It is the right piece for those who furnish with intention, for those seeking a centerpiece capable of starting a conversation without shouting, and for those who love spring even in winter. Perfect on a minimalist sideboard, at the center of a carefully set table, or as a standalone element on a neutral shelf that was waiting for nothing but this. Project notes: diameter 25 cm, height 10 cm. Steel with an iridescent resin finish, in Purplegreen. Alessi spring/summer collection. Design by Giulio Confalonieri.
