Alessi — Mandacaru Tatà FC17 2 | Fratelli Campana fabric doll

There is something ancient yet radically contemporary about the Mandacaru Tatà: a soft figure, with a jointed body that can be shaped and adjusted as desired, occupying space with the disarming grace of an object unaware that it is design. The fabric yields beneath the fingers, the internal structure bends, twists, and readjusts - and each new posture tells something different. It is an accessory that inhabits a desk or shelf with a quiet presence, capable of changing mood along with whoever touches it. Behind this piece are Fratelli Campana, Fernando and Humberto, the Brazilian masters who brought the chaotic, vibrant soul of South American popular culture to international design. With Alessi, they found a partner capable of translating into industrial production their aesthetic of humble materials elevated to poetry. The name itself - Mandacaru - evokes the cactus of the northeastern sertão, a symbol of resilience and improbable beauty in a challenging landscape. Tatà is its creation: irregular, headstrong, tender. At Stilmobili, we chose the Mandacaru Tatà because it challenges the category to which it belongs. It is neither a decorative ornament in the conventional sense, nor a toy, nor a tool. It is an object for interaction, to hold in your hands during a phone call, to absentmindedly rearrange while thinking. It is aimed at those who furnish with irony and intelligence, those who seek in their spaces not only aesthetics but also a sudden thrill of unexpected humanity. Project notes: fabric-covered structure that can be shaped, height 43 cm, width 23 cm. Designed by Fratelli Campana for Alessi, spring/summer collection. End-of-line piece - limited availability.
