There is a geometry of nourishment that Mami knows well: that of gathering, containing, and bringing to the table something worth waiting for. The SG53/2 soup plate is white porcelain in its most complete form - 24 centimeters in diameter, tracing a slow, unhurried curve capable of embracing a winter broth as well as a summer fish soup. White is not an absence of color: it is the most radical choice a designer can make, because it forces the form to stand on its own. Stefano Giovannoni designed Mami with a precise intention: to restore to the table the sense of a familiar, almost archetypal grammar. The name itself evokes domestic warmth, gestures learned in childhood, and a carefully set table on important days. Giovannoni - one of the leading figures in 1990s Italian design and the creator of iconic pieces for Alessi - applies his sensitivity for soft, recognizable forms here, stripping away all unnecessary ornament. Mami thus becomes a collection that speaks to memory even before it speaks to the eye. We chose Mami for Stilmobili because it represents what we believe the table should be: a place for thoughtful design, not chance. It is the ideal plate for anyone who wants to create a cohesive, enduring table setting, equally suited to a dinner with friends or a Sunday lunch that needs no explanation. It naturally complements the rest of the collection, but also stands beautifully on its own, as a quiet centerpiece. Project notes: white porcelain, diameter 24 cm, net weight 561 g. Part of the Mami collection by Stefano Giovannoni for Alessi. Code SG53/2.
