Alessi — Mami SG53/1 | White porcelain dinner plate

There is a disarming purity in white porcelain when it is shaped with intention. Alessi's Mami dinner plate belongs to that category of objects that do not seek to impress through ornamentation, but through the quiet perfection of form. Pure white and round, with a generous diameter of 27.5 centimetres that invites food to be arranged as though on a canvas - Mami is the essential gesture of the table made eternal.

Behind this plate is the vision of Stefano Giovannoni, one of the most recognizable designers in the Italian contemporary design scene, equally masterful at moving between pop irony and formal purity. With the Mami collection - whose name itself evokes a certain domestic tenderness, a maternal warmth - Giovannoni created a complete tableware service for Alessi that translates the brand's aesthetic into porcelain: lines that breathe, proportions designed for visual harmony and everyday functionality, and a whiteness that complements any table setting.

At Stilmobili, we chose Mami because it perfectly embodies what we look for when selecting tableware: objects with a story to tell even before they are set on the table. It is the ideal plate for those who want to create a designer tableware collection without sacrificing versatility, for those who host with care and recognize an act of culture in everyday objects. It naturally pairs with accessories from the same collection, but also engages elegantly with artisanal ceramics and contemporary glassware.
