Alessi — Lago dei Desideri AGJ01 16 | Porcelain Christmas figurine

There is something suspended in time about this small sculpture: an imaginary lake floating in your hands like a waking dream. "Lago dei Desideri" is a porcelain figurine with compact dimensions - barely eleven centimeters at its greatest extent - entirely hand-decorated with the artisanal care that transforms each piece into a unique work. The white porcelain surface receives the painted mark with luminous discretion, while the shape of the piece itself evokes a narrative universe all its own: fairytale-like, ironic, deliberately naive in its perfection. Behind this object are two of the most original names ever brought together in the Italian design scene: Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori. Both from the world of illustration and pop visual culture, the two artists collaborated with Alessi as part of the "AlessiPalinsesto" collection, a project that reinterprets the holiday calendar with a broad perspective, capable of bringing together irony and poetry, conscious kitsch and formal refinement. The result is an object that does not settle for decorating: it tells a story. At Stilmobili, we chose "Lago dei Desideri" because it perfectly embodies that borderland that fascinates us: between design and applied art, between the tradition of Christmas decorations and a contemporary sensibility unafraid of playfulness. It is the ideal gift for those who already have everything - or for those who know how to recognize the value of an object capable of generating a story every time they look at it. Project notes: hand-decorated porcelain, dimensions 10.9 × 8.0 × 4.8 cm. AlessiPalinsesto collection, autumn/winter season. Code AGJ01 16.
