Alessi — La Cupola 9095/6AZFM | Aldo Rossi espresso coffee maker, light blue

There is something architectural about the way La Cupola rises on the cooktop. Its silhouette is unmistakable: an octagonal base that ascends with geometric rigor to the hemispherical dome that gives it its name, almost a small cathedral for morning coffee. The cast aluminum creates dense, almost tactile surfaces, while the light blue polyamide handle and knob - a precise, Milanese blue, like a March sky - introduce a note of color that is not ornament but signature. Holding it, pouring the coffee, is a gesture that acquires a certain formal awareness. La Cupola was born from the mind of Aldo Rossi, one of the most influential Italian architects and theorists of the 20th century, and the 1990 Pritzker Prize winner. Rossi brought to Alessi his obsession: the architecture of memory, the elementary forms that inhabit the collective unconscious - the tower, the cone, the cube, and the dome itself. Designed in the 1980s, this espresso coffee maker has become one of the signature objects of the Crusinallo Factory, demonstrating that a kitchen utensil can be, without rhetoric, a work of total design. Its magnetic steel base also makes it compatible with induction cooktops, without this technical compromise compromising the project's purity in the slightest. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly expresses what we believe: that the quality of everyday life is also shaped by the objects we choose to surround ourselves with. La Cupola is for those who know Rossi and for those who have yet to discover him - in both cases, every morning becomes an opportunity for a small, silent encounter with great Italian design. Design notes: Espresso coffee maker in cast aluminum, capacity 30 cl, diameter 10 cm, height 28.5 cm. Magnetic steel base, induction compatible. Light blue polyamide handle and knob.
