Alessi — La Bella Tavola ES21/22 38 | Sottsass oval serving platter

There is a disarming purity to white porcelain when it is shaped with such formal awareness. The oval serving platter from the La Bella Tavola collection presents itself as a silent, perfect surface, capable of holding without overwhelming, of framing food as if it were a composition. Its proportions - 38 by 30 centimeters - trace a generous, hospitable oval that evokes the tradition of the Italian table without ever slipping into nostalgia. Behind this seemingly simple object is the signature of Ettore Sottsass, one of the great masters of twentieth-century Italian design. Founder of the Memphis group, a radical and visionary interpreter of contemporary material culture, Sottsass was able to practice here a rare form of understatement: no color, no pattern, no formal provocation. Only the curve, the white, the reassuring weight of porcelain. A minimal gesture that carries with it decades of design culture. At Stilmobili, we chose La Bella Tavola because it embodies a philosophy we share: the discreet luxury of everyday objects designed with intelligence. It is the ideal piece for those who set a table with aesthetic rigor, without ostentation - for those who know that true elegance lies in the balance between function and form, and that a serving platter can, in every respect, be an act of design.
