Alessi — La Bella Tavola ES21/1 | White porcelain dinner plate

There is a disarming purity in the La Bella Tavola dinner plate: white porcelain, 27 centimetres in diameter, a form that does not seek to amaze but to seduce through the perfection of the essential. Its surface is quiet and luminous, able to enhance every dish as though it were a composition on canvas. Holding it in your hands means sensing the balanced weight of an object designed to last - not only through the years, but in the memory of those seated at the table. La Bella Tavola was born from the vision of Ettore Sottsass, one of the most visionary and contradictory figures in twentieth-century Italian design. Founder of the Memphis group and theorist of the object as a cultural language, Sottsass turns here to a territory seemingly opposed to his radical aesthetic: the everyday table, white, the silence of porcelain. Yet it is precisely in this retreat from provocation that his vision reveals its maturity - form as a restrained gesture, function as a poetic act. At Stilmobili, we chose La Bella Tavola because we believe that a beautifully set table is, in itself, an act of design. This service is ideal for those seeking a refined neutral foundation on which to build a personal table setting, one that can engage with pieces from other collections without ever taking second place. It is the choice of those who know the difference between simplicity and banality. Project notes: white porcelain, diameter 27 cm, produced by Alessi. An enduring collection with a seasonal spring/summer variation. A classic as part of a complete dinner service or as a single piece to be added over time.
