Alessi — La Bella Tavola ES13/87 | Bone china filtered coffee cup Sot

There is something profoundly civilized about pouring your morning coffee into a thoughtfully designed cup. The La Bella Tavola collection filter coffee cup - code ES13/87 - is made of bone china, that exceptionally fine porcelain of Anglo-Saxon origin, whose translucent luminosity and almost weightless lightness are due to the presence of bone ash in the composition. With a capacity of 20 centiliters and a diameter of 7.7 centimeters, the cup fits the hand perfectly: neither too large to dissipate the heat nor too small to deny the pleasure of lingering. Behind this apparently simple object is the signature of Ettore Sottsass, one of the undisputed leading figures of twentieth-century Italian design, founder of the Memphis group and an ironic, poetic voice of an entire cultural era. For Alessi, Sottsass designed La Bella Tavola as a reflection on the everyday table: clean, almost archetypal forms that do not seek exception but the perfection of the ordinary. A set designed to last - in time and in taste - precisely because it rejects the ephemeral. At Stilmobili, we chose this piece for what it represents beyond its function: an act of democratic design signed by a master. It is ideal for those who set a table with aesthetic awareness, and for those who seek a quiet yet recognizable quality in everyday objects. Listed as a discontinued item, this cup now also has the added value of rarity. Design notes: translucent bone china, capacity 20 cl, diameter 7.7 cm, net weight 150 g. Alessi production, fall/winter collection. Clearance item.
