Alessi — KU TI05/38 | Toyo Ito white porcelain salad bowl

There is something hypnotic about the quiet perfection of a white bowl. The KU salad bowl, made of white porcelain produced by Alessi, belongs to that category of objects that seem to have existed forever, as though their form had been taken from nature rather than designed. Thirty-two centimeters in diameter, a generous capacity of more than two liters, and a surface that captures and reflects light with the discretion characteristic of great materials. On the table, its presence is solid yet light. KU was born from the collaboration between Alessi and Toyo Ito, the Japanese architect who won the Pritzker Prize in 2013 and is a central figure in contemporary architectural thought. Ito brings to tableware the same sensibility that guided projects such as the Sendai Mediatheque: the pursuit of a form that seems generated by invisible forces, fluid yet structured. The KU collection is a rare example of a successful dialogue between Italian manufacturing tradition - embodied by the Fabbrica di Crusinallo - and the poetic vision of a master of Eastern architecture. Listed in the Alessi catalog as an end-of-line piece, KU now has the added appeal of objects destined to become rare. That is why we wanted it on the Stilmobili shelf: it is the kind of purchase that a true design enthusiast immediately recognizes as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Ideal for those who love setting the table with aesthetic consistency and want to bring not only food to the table, but also a precise vision of the world. Project notes: white porcelain, 32 cm diameter, 210 cl capacity. Designer Toyo Ito. Alessi collection, fall/winter lineup. End-of-line piece.
