Alessi — JM13/36 L | 18/10 steel serving tray

There is a particular sense of calm in large planes of polished steel. Alessi's JM13/36 L tray belongs to that family of objects that do not seek to amaze, but to seduce with discretion: a generous surface - 36 by 29 centimetres - in 18/10 stainless steel, capable of reflecting the light on the table and transforming every serving into a visual composition. The material is solid and cold to the touch, yet alive; its weight in the hand has that reassuring density that only good materials can provide. Behind this serving tray is the hand of Jasper Morrison, one of the most rigorous and influential British designers of his generation, working on this project alongside Alberto Gozzi, Alessi's longtime in-house collaborator. Morrison is known for what he himself calls "super normal" - a design that does not show off or shout, but exists with an almost moral formal precision. The result is an object belonging to Alessi's main collection: no concessions to decorativism, only carefully studied proportions and a function brought to its most essential form. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it represents exactly what we look for when we talk about quality table accessories: pieces that last, age well, and adapt equally to a formal lunch or an informal dinner without ever seeming out of place. It is ideal for those who set a table with aesthetic awareness, for those who enjoy entertaining with understated elegance, and for those who regard every household object as a style choice.
