Alessi — Risotto Spoon | Sempé Design Utensil

Alessi IS01 — The Spoon Born from a Story

There is something special about serving risotto with a spoon that carries a story with it. This serving spoon by Inga Sempé is not simply a kitchen utensil: it is the gesture of someone who loves to cook, transformed into an object and designed to accompany one of the most beloved dishes in Italian tradition with the same care with which it is prepared.

Why we chose it for you

Created through a competition organized by Alessi with Domus magazine to celebrate the anniversary of Il Cucchiaio d'Argento — the cookbook that has accompanied Italian kitchens for fifty years, with more than three million copies sold — this piece tells the story of the happy encounter between gastronomic culture and research-driven design. Alessi, founded in 1921 on Lake Orta, has made this dialogue its raison d'être: transforming everyday objects into small works of applied art. Inga Sempé's design is a precise example of this.
