Alessi — Grind WAL03 B | Black aluminum spice grinder

There is something deliberately urban and tactile about Grind: the black cast aluminum makes it feel dense, almost mineral-like in the hand. The cylindrical form narrows toward the top with a geometry that allows no superfluous ornamentation, while its weight - just over half a kilo - conveys unexpected solidity for a table object. Salt, pepper, and spices find a common voice here, expressed in a black that absorbs light without reflecting it. Grind was born from the collaboration between William Alsop, a British architect known for his ability to defy formal conventions with irony and sculptural power, and Federico Grazzini, an Italian designer with a refined sensitivity to materials. Together, they translated into a kitchen accessory the same tension that characterizes certain contemporary architecture: the search for an object with presence, not just function. The result is a piece belonging to the fall/winter season of the Alessi collection - consistent with a vocation for visual density and chromatic warmth. At Stilmobili, we selected it for those who believe that furnishing also means caring for the grammar of everyday objects. Grind is intended for those who do not consider a condiment set an accessory detail, but rather an element of aesthetic coherence within a thoughtfully designed table setting. It is ideal in kitchens and dining rooms with a contemporary, industrial, or minimalist style, where black is not an absence but a choice. Project notes: diameter 7.5 cm, height 14.2 cm.
