Alessi — GIA25 | The Tending Box, stainless steel mixer

There is a precise moment in the ritual of the cocktail when everything comes to a halt: when the ice meets the liquor in the mixing glass and the crystalline sound of stirring becomes the soundtrack to a moment of mindful anticipation. Alessi's The Tending Box inhabits exactly that moment. Made of 18/10 stainless steel and polished until it returns almost liquid reflections, this mixing glass carries the elegant weight of an object designed to last - in form, in gesture, and in meaning. The project was born from the collaboration between Giulio Iacchetti and Oscar Quagliarini, two voices in Italian design capable of finding an unprecedented formal language even in the most everyday objects. Iacchetti, one of the most rigorous and versatile designers of his generation - a multiple winner of the Compasso d'Oro - brings his customary ability to imbue form with meaning without overdoing the gesture. The result is a cylinder that seems obvious and yet is not: proportioned, balanced, and able to sit in the hand with just the right firmness. At Stilmobili, we chose The Tending Box because it embodies a vision of home mixology that goes beyond a simple bar accessory: it is an object to display, to use intentionally, and to give as a gift to someone who considers attention to detail a form of hospitality. It is designed for those who transform drink preparation into a small daily ritual, with the same care they would devote to an important dinner. Project notes: capacity 75 cl, diameter 9.30 cm, height 16 cm. 18/10 stainless steel. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto spring/summer collection. Designed by Giulio Iacchetti with Oscar Quagliarini.
