alessi-es17-1-cavatappi-sottsass-in-legno-di-faggio
Alessi — ES17 1 | Sottsass beechwood corkscrew

There is something deeply ritualistic about opening a bottle of wine. A gesture that deserves a tool worthy of it: Alessi's ES17 1 corkscrew transforms this small daily ceremony into a moment of pure formal joy. Made of beechwood in black, yellow, and white, the piece carries all the chromatic energy and compositional vitality that have made it an instantly recognizable object. The material feels warm to the touch, the weight is just right, and the geometry already tells, even before it is used, who conceived it.
It was designed by Ettore Sottsass, one of the founding fathers of Italian radical design, founder of the Memphis group and the unmistakable voice of an aesthetic that successfully combined irony, color, and culture in objects capable of inhabiting the boundary between art and function. With the ES17 1 corkscrew, Sottsass brings his visual grammar - made up of crisp geometries, bold contrasts, and a distinctly intellectual lightness - to one of the most domestic and convivial objects there is. The piece belongs to the prestigious Alessi 100 Values Collection, the editorial project through which the Italian factory brought together one hundred objects symbolic of its design history.
We chose this corkscrew because, first and foremost, it is a collectible piece that is meant to be used. Not a decorative object, not a museum-style quotation: a table tool that brings a master's signature into everyday life. It is ideal for those who love design as a language, for those who build their home as a coherent story, and for those who want to give not an accessory, but a perspective on the world.
Design notes: height 18 cm, diameter 6 cm, weight 290 g. Material: beechwood. Collection: Alessi 100 Values Collection. Designer: Ettore Sottsass.

Dim Z

18.00 cm

Designer

Ettore Sottsass

Net weight

.290 Kg

Diameter

6.00 cm

Height

18.00 cm

Technical documentation

📄 Alessi Twergi ok ITA

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0896/8755/6437/files/01_004fd201-0ccb-4113-99d6-93e6cc0fcfc0.webp?v=1780903564
