Alessi — Duna MZ01 MZ01/3M | Zanuso monobloc table knife

There is something hypnotic about the simplicity of an object that makes no concessions to the superfluous. The Duna knife is made from a single block of AISI 420 steel, without seams, joints, or interruptions: handle and blade emerge from the same metallurgical gesture, as if the form had always been there, hidden in the material, waiting to be revealed. The smooth, continuous surface invites the hand to grasp it naturally, while the slightly tapered silhouette recalls - in its name as in its curve - the sinuous profile of a dune, a form shaped by the wind down to its essence. Duna bears the signature of Marco Zanuso, one of the undisputed masters of 20th-century Italian design, a figure equally authoritative in architecture, industrial design, and communication design. Zanuso always believed that the quality of an object could be measured by its ability to disappear in use, becoming a natural extension of the human gesture. In this sense, Duna is a statement of poetics: the knife does not show itself off; it inhabits the table with discretion and class. At Stilmobili, we chose Duna because it embodies the understated refinement we seek in every piece of our selection. It is the ideal complement for those who set a table with an aesthetic purpose, without giving in to decoration for its own sake. It pairs naturally with minimalist porcelain dinnerware, raw linen tablecloths, and a table setting that favors rigor over redundancy. An object for those who know that true elegance is recognized by the detail that does not shout. Project notes: AISI 420 stainless steel, monobloc construction. Length 22.5 cm. Designer Marco Zanuso.
