alessi-dry-4180-6-coltello-da-frutta-castiglioni
Alessi — Dry 4180/6 | Castiglioni fruit knife

There is an almost surgical precision in the way the Dry blade meets the handle: two surfaces of the same steel that present themselves to the touch in opposite ways, the blade's polished mirror finish against the handle's satin velvet. A contrast that is never gratuitous, but functional and aesthetic at once - the hand finds a secure grip, the eye finds beauty. Made of AISI 420 stainless steel, the fruit knife measures 19 centimetres in length and weighs almost nothing: it is a tool designed for delicate gestures, for the mid-afternoon break, for the silent ritual of sliced fruit.
Dry is one of Achille Castiglioni's most celebrated creations for Alessi, the undisputed master of twentieth-century Italian design. Castiglioni had the rare gift of seeing everyday objects as open problems, never entirely resolved and always susceptible to a new perspective. In designing this cutlery, he chose to let the industrial process speak for itself: the difference in finish between blade and handle is not an applied ornament, but the logical consequence of a reflection on the gesture. Dry has entered the history of Italian industrial design as one of those objects in which form and function dissolve into one another without leaving any trace of mediation.
At Stilmobili, we chose Dry because it represents exactly what we look for: objects capable of transforming the table into a place of material culture. It is the ideal cutlery for those who furnish thoughtfully, who recognize in Castiglioni's signature a guarantee of thought before style. Perfect as the finishing touch to a refined table setting or as a valuable gift for a collector of applied design.
Project notes: AISI 420 stainless steel — polished blade, satin-finished handle — length 19 cm — weight 66 g — designer Achille Castiglioni — Alessi collection.

Dim X

19.00 cm

Designer

Achille Castiglioni

Net Weight

.066 Kg

Width

19.00 cm

Pieces per package

6

Technical documentation

📄 Stainless steel cutlery notice 275x150 Febr2025

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0896/8755/6437/files/01_f2502de2-7a1b-4591-8f3a-d1a0ca8991c8.webp?v=1780902020
