Alessi — Veneer | Urquiola Design Steel Bowl

Alessi Veneer — Material That Comes to Life at the Table

There is something unexpected about touching steel and finding yourself thinking of wood. Patricia Urquiola's Veneer bowl for Alessi plays with this illusion: a raised decoration reminiscent of the natural grain of wood transforms the metal surface into something warm, almost organic. Bringing it to the table means adding a visible gesture of care that makes an impression even before anyone sits down.

Why We Chose It for You

Alessi was founded in 1921 in Crusinallo, on Lake Orta, as a Piedmontese artisan workshop. Since then, it has developed its own distinctive way of understanding kitchen objects: not simple utensils, but pieces capable of bringing form and storytelling to the everyday table. The Veneer bowl, designed by Patricia Urquiola, embodies this vision with precision: its fluid lines create three-dimensionality, while the raised decoration interacts with the light and brings dynamism to a material - 18/10 stainless steel - usually associated with essential simplicity. The result is an object that does not go unnoticed.
