Alessi — Snow Cube | Jori Design Christmas Bauble

Alessi Snow Cube - Santa Claus in pixel form

There is something unexpectedly tender about a glass cube that brings together two distant worlds: the tradition of Christmas and the aesthetics of 1980s video games. The pixelated face of Santa Claus designed by the duo Marcello Jori and Massimo Giacon for Alessi transforms an age-old gesture - hanging an ornament on the tree - into a small act of contemporary poetry.

Why we chose it for you

Alessi does not produce simple objects: since 1921, it has interpreted the boundary between applied art and everyday life, entrusting its projects to the most irreverent and visionary names in Italian and international design. This Christmas decoration is the perfect example: its cubic shape breaks with every convention, while the mouth-blown glass and entirely hand-finished decorations bring it back into the realm of authentic craftsmanship. A piece that says a lot about the person who chooses it.

Ideal for

Hang it among the branches of the tree as an unconventional accent, or place it on a shelf or surface where it immediately becomes a conversation piece. It is also a Christmas gift for anyone who loves design and already has everything: unexpected, distinctive, and made to last well beyond a single season.
