Alessi — Carol PLA01SET1 | Set of 2 blown glass Christmas baubles

There is something ancient and precious about the act of hanging a blown-glass sphere on the fir tree. Carol is this gesture made contemporary: two blown-glass Christmas decorations, hand-painted with the kind of craftsmanship that transforms a mass-produced object into a unique piece. The surface catches the light and reflects it back in softened form, while the variations in the painting - inevitable in handmade work - give each piece an unrepeatable personality. Carol was created through a collaboration between Alessi and PlayLab, a creative studio that has been exploring the boundary between industrial design and pop visual culture for years. The result is a decoration rooted in the great tradition of Northern European Christmas ornaments, reinterpreted with the graphic sensitivity and distinctive sense of color typical of a contemporary design approach. Its generous diameter - approximately ten centimeters - gives it a striking presence on the tree without being intrusive. At Stilmobili, we chose Carol because it perfectly embodies the tension between emotional memory and contemporary language that we seek in the finest design objects. It is the ideal gift for those who live with style and never compromise on aesthetics, even during small domestic celebrations: Christmas becomes an opportunity to bring a signed piece into the home, destined to return each year with the same elegance. Project notes: set of two spheres, blown glass, hand-painted decoration. Diameter 10 cm, height with hook 10.5 cm. Designer: PlayLab. Alessi Palinsesto fall/winter collection.
