Alessi — Cagnottone AGJ01 12 | Porcelain Christmas figurine

There is something irresistible about this little porcelain dog: a round, good-natured presence, hand-decorated with the kind of craftsmanship that transforms an object into a keepsake. Il Cagnottone inhabits its surroundings with discretion and character, perching on a shelf, beneath a tree, or beside a nativity scene reinterpreted in a contemporary style. Its compact dimensions — just under six centimeters tall — make it precious precisely because of its scale: a detail, a smile, a small piece of domestic poetry. Behind this apparently simple gesture are two far-from-ordinary authors: Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori, key figures in Italian visual culture spanning comics, art, and design. Both associated with the Transavanguardia movement and the Italian pop scene, they collaborated with Alessi, bringing to the dream factory in Crusinallo an imaginary world made of affectionate creatures, learned irony, and tender nostalgia. Il Cagnottone was created as part of the Alessi Palinsesto fall/winter collection, designed to inhabit the seasons of retreat and celebration. We chose this piece because it tells one of Alessi's most authentic stories: the ability to turn everyday life into an act of culture, and a gift into a memorable gesture. It is the ideal companion for those who love unconventional Christmas decorations — far from the rhetoric of glitter and closer instead to a more refined visual sensibility. A gift for collectors, design enthusiasts, and anyone who knows how to recognize the value of a hand-painted surface. Project notes: hand-decorated porcelain; dimensions 4.8 × 5.5 × 6 cm; weight 120 g. Discontinued item — limited availability.
