Alessi — Caccia LCD01/15 | 18/10 stainless steel cake server

There is something ancient and ritualistic about serving a cake: the blade sliding between the layers, the secure grip of the handle, the precise transfer to the guest's plate. The Caccia cake server in 18/10 stainless steel accompanies this moment with a presence that is both understated and refined, the result of a geometry that leaves no room for superfluous ornamentation. The polished surface catches the light, the profile is clean, and the 27-centimeter proportion is calibrated to sit naturally both on a set table and in the cutlery drawer. The Caccia collection bears the name of Luigi Caccia Dominioni and was designed together with Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni - three central figures in the history of twentieth-century Italian design. Originally designed in 1938, this cutlery family represents one of the earliest examples of industrial design applied to the table, clearly anticipating the formal and functional principles that would define Italian design in the postwar period. Alessi has produced it and preserved it in its catalog as one preserves a classic: without altering it, because there is no reason to. At Stilmobili, we chose the Caccia cake server because it belongs to that rare category of objects that stand the test of time without growing old. It is the ideal complement for those who have already chosen the cutlery from the same collection, but it works with equal authority as a standalone piece, capable of conversing with tableware from different origins. We dedicate it to those who love setting the table with intention, to those who know that a well-designed object does not need to introduce itself. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel. Length 27 cm.
