Alessi — Anna G. Liquid AM01A/ST | Limited Edition Mendini corkscrew

There is something profoundly ritualistic about opening a bottle. An ancient, intimate gesture that Anna G. has always transformed into domestic theater. In this Liquid version — a limited series of just nine numbered examples and a single artist's proof — Alessandro Mendini's celebrated corkscrew takes on an unprecedented and unsettling material: AlkiPaper®, a composite resin that simulates the texture of paper with an almost organic density, joins chromed zamak and metal accessories treated with PVD in a deep, liquid blue hue, precisely. The color is not decoration: it is a poetic statement. That dense blue evokes water, transparency, fluidity — everything wine promises to be in the glass.

Anna G. was created in 1994 from the drawing board of Alessandro Mendini, one of the most fertile and ironic minds in 20th-century Italian design. Its form — that stylized female profile with arms raised as a lever — is now a recognizable archetype throughout the world, both an object of study and of cult following. Mendini conceived it as a serious toy, a functional object capable of carrying an entire narrative universe with it. Over time, Anna G. has become the very symbol of the Alessi philosophy: where function and poetry merge without either prevailing over the other.

We chose it for Stilmobili because it belongs to that very rare category of objects that cannot simply be purchased: they are obtained. With only nine pieces in the world, AM01A/ST is intended for those who consider collecting a cultural act, not a whim. It is the perfect gift for a design collector, a Mendini enthusiast, or anyone who wants their table to tell a unique story.

Project notes: height 24.5 cm, diameter 7 cm. Materials: AlkiPaper® and chromed zamak with blue PVD finish. Decoration by Studio Temp. Limited series: 9 numbered examples + 1 artist's proof.
