Alessi — Ala AC06 | Castiglioni stainless steel crumb catcher

There is something almost poetic about an object devoted to what remains. Ala is an 18/10 stainless steel crumb scraper, sixteen centimetres long, as slim as its name suggests: a shape that glides across the tablecloth with the same lightness as an age-old gesture. Its polished surface reflects the light of the set table, and even when it rests on the edge of the plate, waiting, it has a discreet and refined presence. Achille Castiglioni - one of the greatest masters of twentieth-century Italian design - understood that everyday objects deserve the same design attention given to exhibition pieces. With Ala, he created an accessory that does not seek to amaze, but to function with elegance: the simplicity of its form is the result of deep reflection on gesture, material, and the proper measure of things. A piece that belongs to the long tradition of collaboration between Castiglioni and Alessi, founded on the conviction that design lives precisely there - in the details that most people do not even think to design. At Stilmobili, we chose Ala because it expresses exactly what we believe in: that a carefully arranged table is measured not only by the choice of tableware or glasses, but by the attention given to every single element that composes it. It is the ideal accessory for those who love to entertain in style, for those who understand the value of the invisible detail, and for those who find in the ritual of lunch or dinner a moment of true domestic civility. Design notes: 18/10 stainless steel, polished finish. Length 16 cm, height 3.6 cm. Weight 44 g. Designed by Achille Castiglioni for Alessi.
