Alessi — La Cintura di Orione | Steel Frying Pan

Alessi "La Cintura di Orione" — The pan born from a cultural project

There is a subtle but perceptible difference between cooking with just any tool and cooking with a thoughtfully designed object. The La Cintura di Orione Lyonnaise pan belongs to the second category: you pick it up and something changes, both in the gesture and in the attention you bring to the heat. The micro-cast steel handle with its burnished raw finish has an unmistakable tactile presence — not smooth, not neutral, but alive between your fingers.

Why we chose it for you

Alessi was founded in 1921 in Crusinallo, on Lake Orta, as an artisanal workshop. A century later, it still defines itself as a research laboratory in the field of applied arts, not simply as an industrial company. La Cintura di Orione was designed by Richard Sapper and Alberto Gozzi, and is the most direct expression of this philosophy: bringing objects into the kitchen that combine technical rigor with design vision. The trilaminated construction ensures even, controlled heat distribution, a quality that every cook — home or professional — recognizes from the first use.
